Program of the Global Conference of Local Elected Women in Paris

We are glad to provide with you the Program of the Global Conference of Local Elected Women: Gender Equality, a Priority for Global Development to be held on 30 January-1 February at the kind invitation of Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris and UCLG Founding President of Honour, and Anne Hidalgo, 1st Deputy Mayor of Paris and Chair of the UCLG Standing Committee on Gender Equality

Over 300 local elected women and partners from around the world have already confirmed participation at the Conference which will define UCLG´s agenda to contribute to ensuring that the participation of women in all fields (politics, economy, financial and human development) and in particular in local decision-making, becomes a priority to the Global Agenda Post-2015. The Conference will be structured among three Roundtables:

1-The participation of women in local decision-making
2-The role of women in innovative financing and access to basic services;
3-Safer cities for women.

As you know, the Conference is organized jointly with CEMR and Metropolis, and supported by the wide UCLG network, UCLGA (NLEWA), FLACMA (RedLamugol) and the other Sections of UCLG, as well as the AIMF and Huairou Commission.

We look forward to seeing you in Paris and having fruitful meetings that will contribute to increasing the participation of women in decision-making and a fairer place of gender equality in the development agenda.
